Port Hadlock is located on the Olympic Peninsula, about halfway between Port Townsend and Port Ludlow. If needed, the hustle and bustle of Seattle is just an hour and 15 minutes away, including a short ferry ride. Port Hadlock is located in the "Sunshine Belt" and enjoys the same low rainfall as nearby Sequim.

The marina at the Old Alcohol Plant in Port Hadlock lies just below Port Hadlock Heights on Port Townsend Bay. Nearby parks are at Fort Flagler, Oak Bay, Chimacum and Indian Island in addition to County sports fields at both Bob Bates Field and H. J. Carroll Park. All are within walking/biking distance from the Heights.

Jefferson General Hospital is 15 minutes away. Port Hadlock and Port Ludlow both have dental, medical and pharmacy facilities.

The Chimacum School District serves the Port Hadlock area and is building a new Elementary School in 1999 as well as upgrading the Middle School and High School facilities. Jefferson County Library is 5 minutes from Port Hadlock Heights. The business district of this small family oriented community is within easy walking distance and boasts a QFC market and pharmacy, several restaurants and many other businesses and shops. The Jefferson County Sheriff's office is on Elkins Road near the entrance to Port Hadlock Heights.
